Electra Meccanica Announced as New Partner for TECHEETAH Formula-E

TECHEETAH Formula E has today announced that the electric vehicle manufacturer, Electra Meccanica, has joined the team as a new partner.

Electra Meccanica is a Canadian electric vehicle manufacturer established in 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia. In late 2016 the manufacturer unveiled its first design product, the 2017 SOLO, a zero-emissions battery electric three-wheel vehicle, marketed as the smartest commuter car on the planet.

The SOLO began deliveries in the US in May this year at a price of $19,900 CAD. The SOLO has a 16kWh battery, a range of 160 km (100 miles) and a max 130km/h speed, giving its drivers a three to six-hour recharge time.

“We’re extremely happy to welcome Electra Meccanica onboard as a new partner. The company stands for progressive battery electric vehicle innovation which fits well with our brand. We are going from strength to strength as a team, not only on track but also off track. It’s been great to add yet another partner to our partner roaster and look forward to planning some exciting activation with Electra Meccanica,” said Keith Smout, Chief Commercial Officer, TECHEETAH Formula E Team.

“When we started the company three years ago we decided to go try and reach far and wide within the electric mobility sphere. Teaming up with the championship leaders, TECHEETAH Formula E represents our ambition and we’re very excited about starting to activate with the team and being part of the larger the Formula E network,” said Jerry Kroll, CEO, Electra Meccanica.
